Ghosts

Nope, not talking about the TV show, although if you haven't seen it, and its British counterpart (on which the U.S. version is based) I highly recommend it.

I'm talking about how spirit continues even after it leaves the 3-D body. We are consciousness. Consciousness knows no boundaries. And sometimes that consciousness hangs around - and you can always ask it to be present.

When my dad (who believed there was nothing after this 3-D life) passed, he gave me signs that he was still around, and he seemed excited about what he could do now that he wasn't in a body. My mom, on the other hand, knew exactly where she was going when she passed, and I didn't feel her at all. Zzzzzzip! Gone.

That said, mom will come back from wherever she is and talk to me if I ask for her.

Another thing I thought was interesting: my dad passed about 10 years before my mom, and whenever I'd think of him or have an interaction, he always "looked" in my minds eye like an older man - 60's or older. After my mom passed, I could feel them together, and their energy shifted to something much more youthful - 30's or so. It was incredibly cool. So when I think of them now, they're both in minds-eye younger bodies.

Our animals can do this to. I often get asked to speak to an animal that has passed. (Pro tip: if you ever want this service, give the animal a couple of weeks minimum to get used to their new environment. It's much easier for them to communicate if given some time to adjust.)

One of my clients recently lost a dog. The dog was very connected to her husband. While my client struggles to "hear" Xena, her husband feels Xena around him frequently. He has more of a need for her, and they go where they're invited. Xena does not want him to grieve too much for her. She was struggling in her last days, and is so much happier now in her spirit body. She is also in service to husband, and continues to provide comfort when he needs it. As he becomes more accustomed to her physical presence being gone, she will spend less time with him - maybe. One never knows; our animal friends have their own agendas. We might like to think it's all about us, but it's definitely a highway with two directions.

If you've lost a pet and wish you had some sort of connection and want to feel them again, it's possible. Ask. When I lost my muse cat AC, I was bereft. She used to sleep against my right side and I missed her warm body next to mine. My mentor, Joy Turner, suggested that I ask AC to come to me and lay beside me. I did it that night, and the side of body where she used to snuggle got very warm.

I've heard a number of stories like that from clients.

What about you? Are there "ghosts" in your house? The kind with fur, or wings, or scales? Tell me!
