I know it's been quiet. Maybe for you, ha ha ha, but for me, the hubs, the dogs, cats and horses, it's been a whirlwind.
We are finally in California at our new place, and this is what it looks like:

We haven't moved in a while. It's been almost 10 years, and for me, that's practically a lifetime. From the time I was 21, until this last move, I've moved 38 times. Most of those were before I was 40. Then I got together with Glenn and things really slowed down. This is only our 9th move together, and there was, as I said 10 years between the last move and this one. It's a lot of boxes, and of course the older you get the more stuff you have. You should have seen what we sold/gave away!
But enough about that. How did the animals fare?
We downsized considerably, going from 40 acres of wide open spaces to a beautiful 55+ community in Sonoma, California, where we have a large yard all fenced in for the dogs, and the cats have a new house to explore. The cats are waiting patiently (for them) for a catio to be built, and we've told them it's probably in the top 10 things that need to be done, but not at the top. No snarling. Yet.
The dogs are happy. Niko is so pleased to have carpet instead of slippery wood or vinyl flooring. It's much easier for his old bones to get up when his paws have something to grab onto. The girls are just glad to be where we are. We go for walks all over the community a couple times a day, and have found a couple of nice off-leash parks where the girls can play bump butt and Niko lords over the other dogs, in his best benevolent manner.

Ellie tests out the kitchen sink.
The horses have all found fantastic homes. Our eldest, Chancie, is now living near Boulder, Colorado, with a herd of elders and a caretaker who puts together their mash in her kitchen. Chacie's diva-ness is much appreciated, and of course she's the prettiest, according to her (she would be right).
Phineas (aka Finn) went to live with his farrier, her husband and her children. He has been having a great time getting to know another diva horse, a pony, and a donkey. The kids love him, and he has all the attention he could ask for. He may even decide one day that it would be okay to pack one of those youngsters around on his back. Holly is taking it slow and letting him tell her what he needs - it's one of the things that makes her such a tremendous barefoot hoof trimmer, and we were so grateful when she told us she wanted to take him into her herd.
Willa and LiLi went to Montana to be with a couple of Equine Gestalt Coaches. Willa has coached a couple of times and knocked it out of the park, and she and her new person, Cassie, are taking riding lessons together. She gets out on trails and is having a grand time. LiLi was with her person, Brenda, for a little over a week. They were getting along beautifully. Brenda was just what LiLi was looking for in a person - someone who wasn't afraid of her, and appreciated her beauty and her coaching style, and a very savvy horsewoman. Unfortunately, one evening LiLi had a severe case of colic and couldn't be saved. No ones fault, and we were all devastated. When I can talk about it without sobbing, I'll write a column about LiLi.
My animal communication business has not changed one bit. You can still reach me at the same phone number (720-737-0495), and I'm teaching classes on line, have a subscription service (use this link: https://www.harmonysheartcoaching.com/monthlysubscriptionAshara ) and will be having a reader booth at spiritual expos in the San Francisco area. I'm open to traveling, too, if you have a bunch of people who want to spend a day or two immersed in animal communication.
The coaching is the same, and is either in person or over the phone. I still coach, but without horses - although there is a barn right around the corner where I'm going to ingratiate myself, just in case. Gestalt is gestalt, no matter how you slice it.
Next week we'll get back to more interesting things than moving and unpacking boxes - like maybe why dogs smile at us!
Love to you all....
